Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music which originated in South London but has swept the UK and world due to its tight production and overwhelming bass and throbbing drum patterns.

One characteristic of certain strands of dubstep is the wobble bass, where an extended bass note is manipulated rhythmically. This style of bass is typically produced by using a low frequency oscillator to manipulate certain parameters of a synthesizer such as volume, distortion or filter cutoff. The resulting sound is a timbre that is punctuated by rhythmic variations in volume, filter cutoff, or distortion. This style of bass is a driving factor in some variations of dubstep, particularly at the more club-friendly end of the spectrum.

The earliest dubstep releases date back to 1998 and were darker, more experimental, instrumental dub remixes of 2-step garage tracks attempting to incorporate the funky elements of breakbeat, or the dark elements of drum and bass into 2-step, which featured B-sides of single releases. In 2001, this and other strains of dark garage music began to be showcased and promoted at Londons night club Plastic People, at the "Forward" night sometimes stylized as FWD>> which went on to be considerably influential to the development of dubstep. The term "dubstep" in reference to a genre of music began to be used by around 2002, by which time stylistic trends used in creating these remixes started to become more noticeable and distinct from 2-step and grime. It was labels Big Apple, Amunition and Tempa that began circulating the "dubstep" term.

Wobbl pays respect to the artists who have driven the movement, 12th Planet, 16bit, 2562, Bassnectar, Benga, Big Chocolate, James Blake, Borgore, Boxcutter, Breakage, Burial, Caspa, Chase & Status, Clubroot, Cyrus, Datsik, Digital Mystikz, Dirtyphonics, Distance, DJ Chef, DJ SFR, Doctor P aka, Slum Dogz, Drop the Lime, El-B, Emalkay, Excision, Flux Pavilion, Foreign Beggars, Forensics, FS, The Gaslamp Killer, Geiom, Jon Gooch, Mick Harris, Horsepower Productions, Ikonika, Jakwob, Jazzsteppa, Joker, Joy Orbison, Juakali, Katy B, Kode9, Navene Koperweis, Liquid Stranger, Magnetic Man, Kevin Martin, Martyn Modestep, Mount Kimbie, MRK1, Nero, Joe Nice, Noisia, Pinch, Plastician, Rusko, Reid Speed, Ivan Shopov, Skream, Skrillex, Truth, Unicorn Kid, Vaccine, Vexd, Warrior Queen, Jamie Woon, Zed Bias, Zeds Dead, Zomby …dues!

Crap
This apps is crap
Wishing I read reviews first
My eleven year old has learned To make synthesizers in NIs Reaktor program. In a few months he will be able to make a better app than this. Simple, pathetic, one page of simple noises. I hope this saves you a dollar. I am insulted that this passes whatever the App Store criteria is for an app. I Agee with the other review. CRAP CRAP CRAP!
Can I have my money back?
I know it says more coming soon but for now, its bad, sorry.
Nice
Its nice app for beginners dub stepers
Pretty weak
Its saving grace is that its free. I didnt think the samples were any too impressive and there so few that within minutes it gets old... I like the concept.. But the execution needs a lot of work before this app can be taken seriously.
